A public safety technology solutions provider is in need of a VoIP Engineer with experience configuring and maintaining Asterisk systems. The Asterisk Engineer will be responsible for modifying code to customize client configurations and features as well as correct any errors. This is a remote role.

RESPONSIBILITY

  • Supervise installation and maintenance of communication systems
  • Adjust voice configurations to minimize communication disruptions
  • Provide training and support to telecommunications personnel
  • Investigate customer issues and design appropriate solutions
  • Operating system proficiency (Linux, Windows)
  • Develop and expand features and products using a variety of programming languages
  • Review project requirements and write technical specifications
  • Debug, test, and fix errors
  • Document code development and revisions
  • Create and use software tools to help automate writing code

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining Asterisk
  • Experience in programming, software development, or other related fields
  • Knowledge of PHP, HTML, bash and/or other programming languages
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL and SQL Server
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
