Seeking an experienced bookkeeper for a full time permanent role based in Fairfield, NJ.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Match and enter all received invoices with packing slips and PO.
  • Accrue all inventory
  • Enter invoices into Quickbooks including any non-inventory invoices received.
  • Submit check list to COO for approval, run checks, and issue ACH payments.
  • Make bank deposits.
  • Work with Pricing and Contracts on weekly chargeback reporting.
  • Post all transactions to Quickbooks including check, credit card, and ACH payments.
  • Track past due accounts, notify customers and send copies of past due invoices. Advise on placing customers on credit hold.
  • Complete monthly sales tax reports and process state sales tax payments.
  • Complete operating and payroll bank reconciliations and make any necessary journal entries.
  • Depreciation journal entry.
  • Follow amortization schedules as provided by accountant.
  • Work with departments to close out the month and handle any open issues.
  • Work closely with accountants on year-end review/ audit.
  • 1099 reporting.
  • Review all statements from vendors.
  • Work with purchasing on all pricing issues with vendors.
  • Work with warehouse on any receiving issues.
  • Monthly, quarterly and annually working with management and accounting to firm to balance books.
  • Work closely with COO to ensure accuracy and improve financial efficiencies.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a full-charge bookkeeper
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Thorough understanding of general ledger, accrual accounting, sales tax, and GAAP
