Sr. Mechanical Engineer – Mission Critical
Seeking a Senior Mission Critical Mechanical Engineer (HVAC, plumbing, and piping) to support the multidisciplinary Design and Engineering team at a global engineering firm.
The Senior Mission Critical Mechanical Engineer, plays a significant role in the successful execution of projects, providing technical expertise in the mechanical discipline and working on project teams consisting of architects and other engineers designing HVAC and plumbing systems, including finding low-carbon, sustainable solutions. This is a remote role but will require some travel to client sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare engineering and construction documents including drawings, specifications, and design narratives
- Perform engineering calculations, studies, analysis, and code review
- Size and select equipment and materials
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, vendors, and contractors
- Act as point of contact for mechanical discipline in discussions with clients
- Work within established budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment
- Participate in all phases of a project from pursuit and proposals through design, and construction
- Review construction shop drawings, requests for information, and submittals during the construction phase of the project
- Assist in the preparation of engineering estimates and proposals
- Travel as required to attend project meetings, engineering site surveys, data collection, and collaboration with clients’ team members.
- Work in a collaborative team environment that includes colleagues from locations throughout the world
- Provide mentoring to junior staff
Qualifications & Experience:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 8 or more years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering
- Familiarity with industry standards (ASHRAE) and building codes
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Revit and Load Calculation Software (Trane Trace, HAP)
- PE Registration
- Experience in Mission Critical system design including data centers or other facilities with need for resiliency/redundancy
- Experience in laboratory and clean room environment design a plus
- CFD analysis ability is advantageous.
