A global engineering firm is seeking a Senior Data Center Power Distribution Engineer to lead the electrical discipline of data center projects through their full lifecycle from sales and proposal to design, and build. Design work includes power distribution, lighting, telecom and fire alarm systems. You will be the engineer of record responsible for leading design and mentoring junior team members on data center electrical design.  This is a fully remote role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge of data center facility systems, primarily electrical design for data centers.
  • Lead design teams to develop construction-ready drawing packages coordinating with other disciplines to accomplish this.
  • Design for optimal capacity, redundancy, reliability, efficiency, and safety, as well as constructability and cost.
  • Travel to project sites for site surveys, data collection for system studies, system audits and collaboration with clients.
  • Develop strong industry relationships with other design professionals.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards including NFPA, NEC, NETA, ANSI, IEEE, UL, UFC, UBC as well as international standards like IEC, CE, and EN.
  • Fluency in design and modelling software (AutoCAD, Revit, Elum Tools, BIM360, SKM, ETAP, EDSA, Easy Power).
  • Perform various system studies (arc flash, load, short circuit, coordination).
